IBX appoints Leif Bohlin as new CEO
IBX, Europe’s leading provider of services and solutions for efficient purchasing, has named Leif Bohlin as its new CEO. Bohlin currently holds the position as Head of IBX Consulting. IBX’s current CEO and co-founder, Hans Ahlinder, will remain in this role until Bohlin assumes his new position as of February 1, 2008.
“Hans Ahlinder has decided to step down as CEO in order to pursue private investments and other engagements outside of IBX. Hans co-founded the company almost eight years ago and has successfully built the company up to its position today as the leading European purchasing solution provider. We thank him for his great achievement, and wish him the best in his new endeavours,” says Tuve Johannesson, Chairman of the IBX board.
Leif Bohlin is Swedish and 40 years old. He has been with IBX since 2000 and is currently Head of IBX Consulting. He has been a member of the IBX Sweden management team since 2005. Prior to this, Bohlin held several key positions within IBX, such as Key Account Manager for some of the company’s top clients. Before joining IBX, he worked as a management consultant with Booz-Allen Hamilton and A T Kearney. Bohlin has also purchasing experience from the automotive sector.
“Leif has extensive experience within purchasing and management, and has delivered significant results in his various responsibilities. We are especially pleased with his leadership capabilities and find him well suited to lead the whole IBX group from now on. I am convinced that under Leif’s leadership IBX will further strengthen its position as Europe’s leading provider of efficient purchasing solutions,” adds Johannesson.
“Having been part of the management structure of IBX since it was founded, I feel committed to the long-term strategy behind the company’s success. I am very confident that we will be able to continue to build a successful company. I will continue the work to create a European leader within purchasing solutions,” says newly-appointed CEO Leif Bohlin.
Founded in 2000, IBX has shown an annual growth rate of 20-30 percent since 2001. Preliminary results for 2007 indicate the most successful year in the company’s history with around 25 percent growth and significantly increased profitability. A final presentation of the annual result for 2007 will be held in connection with the release of the annual report.
“I have led IBX since its inception, and it has been my most rewarding professional undertaking so far, but I feel it is time for me to move on to new challenges. IBX’s result for 2007 is the best ever, with strong growth and significantly increased profitability; hence it is a good time for a CEO shift right now, when IBX stands strong – but also in need of a long term CEO to tackle our long-term strategies. Leif has been with the company almost since the beginning and is highly respected. I am very confident that the board has found the right person in Leif to lead IBX for the coming years,” says Hans Ahlinder, present CEO and co-founder of IBX
