IBX enters into a new agreement with the Norwegian public sector

IBX has signed a three-year framework agreement with the Norwegian Ministry of Government Administration and Reform (FAD) and the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS) for the public sector purchasing initiative ehandel.no. The services offered on ehandel.no are to be expanded, so that the Norwegian public sector can meet the government target of managing 25% of all purchases will be electronically by 2009.

“We are pleased that FAD and KS chose to continue their cooperation with IBX, and look forward to offer our expanded services and solutions to ehandel.no. The agreement cements our position as the leading provider of services and solutions for efficient purchasing”, says Oddmar Johannessen, Country Manager of IBX Norway.

On November 30th 2006, FAD and KS entered into a framework agreement with five Norwegian purchasing suppliers, including IBX. Over 550 enterprises at governmental and council level are parties to the agreements, which have a term of three years and an estimated value of 600 million Norwegian Kronor.

The new services include expanded support for new procurement methods for the public enterprises, which are of great significance for reaching the government’s target of managing 25% of all operating purchases electronically by 2009. Electronic commerce frees up public sector resources through efficient and transparent purchasing, and the increased control and traceability minimizes the risks and limits the possibility for illegal work and corruption.

“IBX has long and extensive experience in the delivery of efficient procurement solutions for the public sector. We have worked with ehandel.no for five years, and look forward to continuing and expanding this cooperation in the future”, says Oddmar Johannessen.
